Amazon is rolling out new automation features for Seller Assistant, allowing small business owners to connect their marketplace data to external AI tools like Anthropic’s Claude and Amazon Quick, according to Small Business Trends. The update lets AI agents monitor your business around the clock and respond to predefined conditions, such as dropping prices when competitors change theirs.

The tool now uses persistent memory to remember your pricing patterns and inventory cycles across different interactions. It can also run workflows that generate response plans if a product’s rating falls below four stars or identify competitive opportunities. Amazon says these workflows maintain an audit trail, so you can see exactly what the system did and why.

For a storefront that also sells products online, this means less time manually checking dashboards and more time on client work. You can now bring Amazon data into the AI tools you already use for accounting or scheduling. The plugin is in beta for U.S. sellers, and Amazon claims 90% of selling partners worldwide already have access to Seller Assistant.

What to check this week

  • Check if your business uses Amazon Quick or Claude to see if the new plugin can connect your marketplace data to those tools.
  • Review your current workflows to determine if you want them to only make recommendations or be allowed to take actions like adjusting prices.
  • Sign up for the free 12-month Amazon Quick Plus subscription if you’re a primary account holder, which can be designated for two additional coworkers.

We’ve seen automation save hours for small teams, but it can also mask errors if you aren’t watching the audit trail. Start with recommendation-only settings to see how the AI interprets your business rules before letting it touch your pricing or inventory. It’s a powerful helper, but you’re still the one signing the checks.
