Small businesses face the same cyber threats as larger organizations, often without the resources to spot them early. Compromised credentials are a leading way attackers gain initial access. According to Verizon’s 2026 Data Breach Investigations Report, compromised credentials were involved in 31% of small business breaches. That’s a big chunk of the problem.
What the new service does
The tool checks breach databases and dark web sites around the clock for anything tied to your domain. If it finds a match, you get an alert with details on what was leaked, which could include emails, passwords, names, or phone numbers, according to Help Net Security.
You’ll also get a Threat Score from 0 to 100 to help gauge the risk. This number looks at how many breaches are linked to your data and how sensitive that info is, helping you decide what to fix first, the company says.
Just because your info shows up in a leak doesn’t mean your own site was hacked. It often means you used that same email or password at another company that got breached. Your digital identity is tied to more than just your own servers.
If you use Network Solutions for your domain, check if your domain information appears in known breach data using their new monitoring tool. Review the Threat Score provided by the service to prioritize which exposures to address first. Follow recommended steps such as changing affected passwords and enabling multi-factor authentication.
Sachin Puri, CEO of Bluehost Group and Network Solutions Group, told Help Net Security that small businesses shouldn’t need a full security team to spot these leaks. The goal is to make the risk clear and give you a way to respond without hiring extra staff.
