A law firm is investigating a data breach at 7 to 7 Dental & Orthodontics that could affect more than 3,500 people in Texas. Shamis & Gentile P.A. launched the probe after the practice reported the incident to the Texas Attorney General on Sept. 17, 2026, according to Shamis & Gentile P.A..
The practice, which has multiple locations across San Antonio, did not say exactly what data was taken. They just called the exposed information “Other.” That leaves a lot of guessing. It could be names and addresses. It could be insurance details. We won’t know until the firm digs deeper.
If you run a small office, this is a reminder that patient data is valuable. Dental practices hold sensitive personal info. A breach like this hurts trust. It also opens the door to lawsuits. Shamis & Gentile is asking affected individuals to fill out a form if they think they were impacted. You can find that form on their site. (Shamis & Gentile P.A.)
We think this one’s worth watching. You don’t need to panic. But you do need to check your own housekeeping. Make sure your patient records are locked down. Who has access? Is it necessary? Keep your digital doors bolted tight.
